Meta Aramid Nonwovens are a high strength synthetic fiber with a high melting point. Meta aramid fibers are inherently flame-resistant and will not melt or drip. Our meta aramid fibers are made with Dupont™ Nomex® and generic fibers.
Superior carries a wide variety of synthetic felts to compliment traditional wool. Our synthetic felts consist of man-made fibers. Unlike wool the polyester and acrylic base prevent the fibers from fusing together making this material a preferred choice for a wide variety of applications.
Rayon felt is a semi synthetic fiber made from cellulose pulp. As a cellulose fiber, it is hydrophilic (water absorber) and provides unique performance when combined with a polyester that is hydrophobic. Rayon nonwovens are used in medical, cosmetic, and Industrial applications.
Polyester felt is available in a wide range of sizes (1.5 to 25). Our nonwoven polyester fabric can be singed, glazed, and made to 160” wide. As a low cost alternative to wool felts these often used in industrial applications.
