Technostat® Filter Media for Air & Liquid Applications
In both air & liquid application, the right sub-micron fibers can be used as part of a system to effectively filter particulates smaller than 1 micron in size. 1 micron (or micrometer) is 0.001 millimeters (0.00003937 inches).
Most harmful airborne and suspended particles are less than 1 micron in size, so the ability for a filtration system to effectively filter out these out is crucial!
Superior Felt & Filtration offers a premier high efficiency filter media product – Technostat®, which is extremely efficient at filtering sub-micron particles. Technostat® is a needle punch nonwoven textile that is electrostatically-charged.
Technostat® is an alternative option for products that use permanently charged fibers. The neutral charge gained during manufacturing attracts both negative and positive particulates from the air stream, which results in high capture rates of sub-micron contaminants.
Technostat® is a comparable replacement for Corona Charged Media, which is often featured in popular household filtration products. Technostat® is also a great alternative for a Media type G replacement.
In addition to our standard Technostat® filter media, we also offer a new generation of charged media, Technostat® Plus. Among high-efficiency air filtration media, Technostat® Plus leads the way. It achieves aerosol penetration levels as much as 40% lower than standard Technostat® grades at the same basis weight.
We also offer a range of mechanical nonwoven materials that can be pleated to obtain HEPA level filtration.
